OffKai Expo Moves to San Jose Downtown Following Record Sellout for Bay Area's Premier VTuber Event

SAN JOSE, CA – May 7, 2025 – OffKai Expo, North America’s first and largest VTuber convention, will host its fourth iteration, OffKai Expo Gen 4, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on June 20-22, 2025. The rapidly growing convention moves to San Jose downtown’s prime event space, promising an even larger and more engaging experience connecting talents, fans, and industry partners from around the world.

The move follows the sellout success of OffKai Expo Gen 3 in 2024, which reached capacity with over 3,000 attendees from more than 30 countries and 49 U.S. states, a 65% increase in attendance from the previous year. Building on this momentum, OffKai Expo anticipates hosting over 5,000 attendees for Gen 4, projecting an estimated $10 million in local economic impact for the Bay Area. The event’s rapid growth underscores the massive appeal of VTubers – online entertainers who use anime-style digital avatars to interact with their audience – and solidifies OffKai Expo as a key gathering hub for the global VTuber community.

OffKai Expo Gen 4 promises to be its biggest event yet with expanded programming in its larger new venue. Attendees can look forward to numerous Meet & Greet opportunities featuring an extended roster of over 70 guests. This stellar lineup includes prominent VTubers from agencies like hololive production, VSPO! English, V4Mirai, alongside celebrated independent talents such as ayamy, Dokibird, Limealicious, and Snuffy, with even more to be announced.

In partnership with Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., the convention will host an official live viewing of the highly-anticipated Japanese concert, “Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours Finale LoveLive! ~EIKYU stage~”. This marks the first time a Love Live! series concert will be officially streamed directly from Japan to a North American event audience.

The convention will also feature its headline concert, OffKai LIVE, with a stellar lineup to be announced soon. Other fan-favorite events return, including the popular maid cafe OffKai Cafe, a Keyboard Meetup, OffChoir (a fan-organized choir performing popular VTuber music), an Itasha (decorated car) show, and the annual Cosplay Contest. Attendees can also shop for unique VTuber art and merchandise in the expanded 43,000 sq ft. Artist and Vendor Hall (sponsored by Phase Connect), featuring both independent artists and established vendors.

Additionally, the expanded Gaming & Arcade Hall, sponsored by Oshi Push, will host demos of the sponsor’s titular trading card game, Oshi Push, alongside video game tournaments for titles including Guilty Gear -Strive-, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Idol Showdown, and Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising.

The convention offers a unique opportunity for sponsors and exhibitors seeking to engage with the rapidly growing VTuber market and its adjacent anime, gaming, and pop culture fanbase. OffKai Expo’s significant growth trajectory and established partnerships with industry leaders like COVER Corporation (parent company of hololive production), Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc., and Phase Connect make it an ideal platform for reaching the quickly expanding global VTuber audience.
